I have a caller today having issues with his new Windows 8 computer. The old computer is running on Windows 7 and its working fine and the customer said that they only change the SSID and password of his Netcomm Modem. The customer knows how to set up the modem but it's a common issue on a Windows computer that if you change the SSID wireless profile should be deleted. Here's how on Windows 7
Go to Control Panel > Network and Internet > Manage Wireless Networks (it will show the list of the Wireless network) > right click and remove the network
Connect to the network again and Wireless Connection will ask for the password
Windows 8 don't have Manage Wireless Network but two option can be done to delete the profile.
Under command prompt type the following: netsh wlan show profiles - this will show the list of profiles
To delete the profile type netsh wlan delete [profile name ] - change it to profile name
Windows 8 improve its wireless issue and just like Mac or Apple you can just forget the network and try to connect again to the network.
The customer said that the new operating is complicated if your haven't tried Windows 7. Issue is resolved and customer learn something about Windows 7 and 8.
