Disable Java to Avoid Malware


How to disable Java
Recent news and updates from JAVA a new Trojan Horse called Mal/JavaJar-B has been found to older version and latest Java Updates. Since Java is widely used on Windows and Linux operating system it can cause a security threat to all the users. The Malware exploits Java application and with this it can possibly gain access and get sensible and valuable information. It can also let hackers to exploit down your system. Java application is needed to run various web applications and website. Disabling Java application might affect your
browsing experience but your security is more important and sooner or later Java will release an update.


Disabling Java on Your Browser:

Internet Explorer  - I’m not using the browser regularly but here’s how to disable browser on Internet Explorer.
Click on Tool > Internet Options > Programs Tab > Manage Add –Ons > Select Java and click on disable.

Mozilla Firefox – My default browser on the computer
Click on Tools > Add-ons >Plugins

Google Chrome – My personal browser for email, Facebook and other personal website
On the address bar type the following address : chrome://plugins/

Click on Settings > Preferences > Advanced Tab > un tick Enabled Java Script

The option can prevent being exploited on the internet when browsing online ,although this change can affect browsing experience and pages not loading properly. Java is currently investigating the Trojan and within the next week expect an update that might help resolve the issue. As for now the only way that we can do is having a preventive measure and being aware of what’s happening and updated on the application. Reading technology blogs and forums will keep us updated with this threat and other security threats that might harm not only our system but also our identity.
